We work alongside African food processors as they scale up. Nine skills work together, with food safety at the heart, to help them build sound businesses and reach better markets.
How we work
Sense is about growth that lasts. For us, that means growth led by the market. We look for solutions that can pay for themselves, so a business keeps growing after the project ends. We start with what buyers want and will pay for, test what works, and scale it.
Then we look at the market system around the processor. Buyers, suppliers, regulators, lenders and support organisations all shape what a business can do. We work with them, and through local players and coaches, so the processor is not fighting the system and the system works for the processor. When both do well, everyone prospers together.
