Our purpose is to help African food processors grow. Here is a selection of our work: who supported it, what we did and what changed.
Burkina Faso's vegetable growers depend on the businesses between them and the market. In HortiPlus we run diagnostics and coaching for horticulture businesses on marketing, management and access to finance, and introduce them to formal retail, hotels and restaurants, and regional buyers. With compost producers we built a quality assurance strategy: laboratory analysis, revised recipes and costs, and benchmarks linked to target crops. With GIZ we developed business models that young people can run, including compost from mango and cashew waste and orchard maintenance services. Growth in horticulture has to pay for itself.
