Our work
Our work: Malawi
Our purpose is to help African food processors grow. Here is a selection of our work: who supported it, what we did and what changed.

In Malawi we help small food processors become safe, commercially sustainable businesses. Through IMAGRI, the Ireland Malawi Agri-Food Systems Programme, we lead enterprise development and food safety support. Our Enterprise Food Safety Academy turns Malawi Standard MS 21 and Codex principles into step-by-step actions for processors: 21 food enterprises have been trained and 15 have completed structured gap audits and coaching. We also modelled women-led fish farming across eight districts, finding viable routes from subsistence ponds to commercial farming and processing. With GIZ we tested business models for young people in beekeeping and pay-as-you-go solar irrigation.
