Women In Development

Women’s Day serves as a poignant reminder to reflect on the strides made towards achieving gender equality globally. Yet, it’s disheartening to acknowledge that in numerous communities worldwide, women still grapple with a lack of fundamental rights and security, trailing behind their male counterparts.

A recent study undertaken by our team has shed light on the distressing reality faced by women in certain rural areas of West Africa, where spousal violence is perceived as justifiable for trivial matters like inadequate housekeeping or childcare. Our engagement in development initiatives has exposed us to the formidable obstacles confronting women in developing nations. However, amidst these challenges, we encounter remarkable women whose unwavering dedication to fostering progress serves as a beacon of hope.

In the coming months, we endeavor to share their narratives, urging us all to lend an attentive ear in pursuit of deeper understanding and small steps toward collective action.
